FAQ

How do I register for CARE?

Please complete the CARE Application.  Registration is required at least 3 weeks prior to attendance.  Online registration is not available.

How soon can my child start?

A child can start at CARE three weeks after a complete application packet is submitted to the park district office AND if a spot is available.  If program is full, child will be placed on a waiting list.  When openings occur during the school year, children on the waiting list have priority placement.

What are the program fees?

Monthly fees are based on the actual number of school days in that month.  Under this schedule, monthly fees will vary from month to month.  The fee schedule for the entire school year can be found in the CARE Parent Handbook.

When are the fees charged?

Fees are automatically drafted from your account on the 15th of each month for the following month’s services.  Example:  On December 15th, your account will be debited for January CARE.

How do I change my credit card information?

Call our office at (630) 466-7436.

Where do I drop my child off?

When facing the front or main entrance of the school, CARE parents should enter through the last door on the right side of the building.  The door is locked for safety, so you must ring the black door bell.  This is the front door that is nearest to the gym and multipurpose room. Use door # at McDole, Blackberry, Shields Schools.  Use door #12 at Stewart School.

Parents are required to sign children in and out of CARE.  No child is to be dropped at the curb.  No child may leave CARE without being accompanied by a guardian.

My child will not be at CARE today. What do I do?

Please help us keep your child safe by informing the school and CARE staff when your child will not be at school or CARE.  We look for your child and expect them to be at our program, unless you tell us otherwise.  If your child is absent from school and/or CARE, please call:

What are the program dates?

The CARE program runs all days when school is in session.  If school is cancelled for any reason such as a holiday, institute day, or weather-related closing, the CARE program will not meet.  Kaneland School District has four scheduled early dismissal days per school year.  On these days, CARE meets an hour earlier to accommodate the shortened school day.

What hours can my child attend the CARE program?

In the morning, children can be brought to the CARE program as early as 6:30 am.  When the school bell rings in the morning at 8:40 am, children are dismissed from CARE and they walk to their classrooms.  After school, children are dismissed from their classrooms to attend CARE at 3:20 pm.  Children can stay at CARE until 6:00 pm.

How do I access my online account?

When you sign up for the CARE program, or any other program with the Sugar Grove Park District, a household account is created for you.  To access your account from our website, www.sgparks.org, click on the Register Online button.  Enter the email address you wrote on your CARE Application.  If this is the first time you are accessing your online account, your temporary password will be your zip code.  Please change your password to one of your choosing.  On the next screen, click on My Account.

Do I get receipts for my CARE payments for income tax purposes?

Monthly receipts are emailed to you at the email address you indicated on your CARE Application.  Please check your spam folder, as some times they end up there.  If you should need a copy of a receipt, you can access them through your online account.  (See FAQ 4 – How do I access my online account?) Once you click on My Account, you can print a Childcare Statement, or Reprint A Receipt, and other tasks.
