Run to Remember 5K

Join us for the 2024 Run to Remember 5K & Fun Run. In this event’s inaugural year, the run will be a heartfelt event dedicated to honoring the memory of local inspiration, Lisa Campise. Lisa was a resident of the Sugar Grove Community and worked as a social worker assisting students who attended Kaneland School District. Outside her professional career she also supported the youth and families in need in our community in many ways. The race will start at Harter Middle School and run along the newly dedicated “Honorary Lisa Campise Way” aka Esker Drive. The event aims to bring the community together; promoting health, wellness, and unity. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or looking to enjoy a leisurely walk, this event offers something for everyone.

To encourage participants to support a local charitable program that Lisa was passionate about, we have set the 5K participant fees at cost. In honoring Lisa Campise’s legacy, we chose Conley Outreach as our charitable partner. We are encouraging our participants who would like to show support to visit their webpage to learn about the Holiday Spirit program and make a donation.

About Lisa Campise:

The 2024 Run to Remember 5k Run and Walk  is dedicated to Lisa Campise! Below is a list of Lisa’s many accomplishments, outside of the hundreds of kids she has supported over the the course of her life.

Lisa Campise’s gift of social work for children resonated in all things she did as a volunteer and professionally through her work at Harter Middle School. She gave herself to support strangers, children, and friends, alike, make her legacy something we are thankful for. While battling brain cancer, an example of her deep desire to always be supportive, Lisa wrote a children’s book explaining the journey of glioblastoma through “Lulu’s Journey”. This book was written, not just for her children, but for all the other families struggling through the same cancer experience.
