Community Interest and Opinion Survey

The Sugar Grove Park District is seeking community input as it develops its next strategic plan.

“This strategic plan is significant because it will lead us through our 20th anniversary and will be our guide as we look for ways to enhance park and recreation opportunities for residents,” said Karen Pritchard, executive director of the park district.

Since the last survey was conducted in 2008, the park district has increased program options and recreation spaces to enjoy. “We’ve maintained strong intergovernmental agreements, parks, and trails and have seen program growth. We’ve added Harter Community Park, Woof Run Dog Park and recently acquired the Sugar Grove Sports Complex,” said Pritchard. “We value transparency and input from our community and want to ensure that our community members are included in this process.”

The survey is tailored to issues of strategic importance to gauge community needs and plan for the future effectively. “Establishing priorities for the future improvement of parks and recreation programs, facilities and services within our community creates a healthy foundation to continue growing from for decades to come,” said Sean Carmody, park board president.

Pritchard is hosting in-person focus groups with key stakeholders such as governmental partners and other special interest groups.
