Public Meetings

The Sugar Grove Park District is hosting two public meetings to discuss the redevelopment of Black Walnut Park.  Meetings will be held at Black Walnut Park, 904 Black Walnut Drive, Sugar Grove on August 17th @ 2pm and August 18 @ 6:30pm.  The concept plan will be available for review for this OSLAD grant program.  For more information or if you need assistance, please contact the Sugar Grove Park District at 630-466-7436 or email info@sgparks.org.  (posted 8/5/2021)

We’ve teamed up with the Village and Township to show our community spirit.  Get out the sidewalk chalk and create an encouraging message for the community this holiday weekend.  Send a photo of your artwork to marketing@sgparks.org.  You may even see it shared on Facebook!

Playgrounds are now open at most park district parks including:

What’s Staying Closed?

School-Park Properties – All outdoor recreation spaces, courts, fields, playgrounds, trails, tracks, etc. at properties shared with Kaneland School District #302 and Sugar Grove Park District. 

  • Outdoor recreation spaces at Kaneland John Shields Elementary School & Volunteer Park are closed.
  • Outdoor recreation spaces at Harter Middle School & Harter Community Park are closed.

Enjoy the Benefits of Parks and Recreation Safely

Please practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet and NOT gather in groups of more than 50 persons.  If you have any symptoms, STAY HOME and DO NOT use public spaces.  Follow all applicable DCEO and Illinois Department of Public Health guidance.

All Sugar Grove Park District playgrounds will continue to be closed until Phase 4 of Restore Illinois Plan.  We are on target to enter that phase on Friday, June 26.
