Dog Park
A 1-acre, fenced
open space for dogs to run, train and socialize
off-leash. Dogs using the park must be up-to-date
on all vaccinations and be registered for the
program. Registration forms, rules and access
to the area are available at the district office.

Dog Park Rules
- This dog park is to be used only by dogs with a Sugar Grove Park District dog park membership. Dogs must wear their issued dog tags at all times in the park.
- To be registered, dogs must have current vaccinations (distemper, hepatitis, Kennel cough and rabies). All dogs must also have a valid dog license from the village or city corresponding to the dog owner’s home address.
- Registration is based on an annual membership. Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- A handler age 18 or older must be present at all times and is solely responsible for the actions of their dog(s).
- Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the park. Handlers must have leash in their possession at all times.
- Children must be at least 6 years of age and accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years or older to enter the dog park.
- Aggressive dogs must be removed from the park immediately. Excessive barking is strongly discouraged and may result in temporary or permanent loss of dog park privileges.
- Dogs in heat (estrus) are not permitted in the park.
- Dogs under 4 months of age are not permitted in the park.
- Handlers must immediately pick up after their dog(s), and fill all holes their dog digs.
- Cooperation between handlers is expected and required.
- No food meant for human consumption, or meals for dogs are allowed. Dog handlers may give dog treats only to their dog(s).
- Toys are permitted at your own risk.
- Handlers are limited to two dogs per visit.
- No alcoholic beverages or glass containers permitted.
- Dogs not leashed outside of the dog park are subject to fines and loss of dog park privileges.
- Infractions of any park rules will result in permanent revocation of a dog’s membership and the privilege to use this park. Rules will be strictly enforced with zero tolerance.
- Vicious dogs are not permitted.
